An oval lithographed metal advertising tablet for Bass & Co’s Pale Ale featuring a pale blue ground with the iconic red triangle trademark. The central graphic is an enlarged representation of the brewery’s bottle label, including the Royal Warrant coat of arms and text Brewers to the King By Appointment. The sign is housed in an embossed brass frame with relief lettering Bass, Ratcliff & Gretton, Limited to the top and Burton-on-Trent to the base. A printer’s mark for McCorquodale & Co, Limited, Leeds. A.9. is visible at the lower edge of the lithographed panel. The reverse retains wooden backing boards and a metal hanging chain.
