A Samuel Allsopp & Sons advertising sign of oval form, comprising a printed paper insert set behind glass within a pressed brass frame. The central graphic features an enlarged copy of the brewery label for India Pale Ale, displaying the trademark hand, brewery name, and the signature of Samuel Allsopp & Sons, alongside the agent name Charles Deighton. The printed surround details awards for the 1867 Paris Gold Medal and 1862 London exhibition. The brass frame is embossed S. Allsopp & Sons to the top edge and features a Victorian registration diamond to the lower rim, which dates the design to 2 April 1870. The reverse is finished with a paper backing and a metal hanging ring.
