Who is AP Saleroom?
Who is AP Saleroom? AP Saleroom is the trading name of The Advertising and Petroliana Saleroom Ltd (Company No. 16447625). We are a family-run specialist auction house dedicated to vintage advertising and petroliana.
How do I register to sell with AP Saleroom?
To begin, please use our online form to provide details and photographs of your items for a valuation. If your items are suitable for an upcoming auction, we will email you a Consignment Form to be completed in BLOCK CAPITALS. Once items are successfully consigned, we require a copy of your proof of ID (such as a UK driving licence or passport) and your bank details for payouts.
How do I consign an item and how does the process work?
Once we have reviewed your online valuation request and confirmed your items are a good fit for an auction, we will email you a Consigning Lots Form. You simply need to complete this in BLOCK CAPITALS, providing as much accurate information as possible for each Lot, including any agreed reserves and estimated values. By returning the signed form, you are appointing AP saleroom as your sole agent to sell those items.
*Note: To ensure selling remains cost-effective for you, we generally look for lots with a total value of £200 or more.
What are the commissions and fees for selling?
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, our standard Seller’s Commission is 10% of the hammer price. A flat Seller’s Consigning Fee of £5.00 is charged per item to contribute toward the costs of professional cataloguing. Payouts are made via bank transfer within 1 week of us receiving cleared funds from the buyer.
How do I arrange for my items to reach the auction?
We can arrange for the safe collection and delivery of your lots to the auction venue. We are highly experienced in handling fragile petroliana, such as glass globes and enamel signs, ensuring everything is moved with the necessary expertise. If you prefer to arrange your own transport, please coordinate with us at least 72 hours in advance.
Do you offer valuations for probate or insurance?
