Who is AP Saleroom?
AP Saleroom is the trading name of The Advertising and Petroliana Saleroom Ltd (Company No. 16447625). We are a family-run specialist auction house dedicated to vintage advertising and petroliana.
How do I register to buy?
To bid, Simply click ‘Register’ in the top right of the page to do so and fill out your details.
Please ensure you have read our Terms and Conditions for Buyers before submitting.
Are Lots able to be viewed prior to the live auction?
Yes. We encourage all bidders to satisfy themselves regarding the condition and authenticity of a lot prior to bidding. We provide several ways to inspect our items:

In-Person Viewing: We typically hold designated viewing days at our saleroom the day before each live auction. Please check the specific auction catalogue for confirmed times or contact us to schedule an appointment.

Catalogue Information: Our online catalogue provides condition statements and multiple high-resolution photographs for most items. These serve as a guide for your assessment.

Specific Enquiries: If you require additional close-up photographs or a more detailed condition report, please email your requests to info@apsaleroom.com. We ask that these requests are sent at least 24 hours prior to the auction day to allow our team sufficient time to respond.

Buyer Responsibility: All descriptions and statements provided are expressions of opinion only. As all bids are accepted on the basis that the Buyer has satisfied themselves regarding the lot, we strongly recommend personal inspection whenever possible.
What are AP Saleroom’s buyer’s commissions and fees?
AP Saleroom is not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged on our in-house premiums. The total premium depends on your bidding method:

Commission (Absentee) Bid: 16% Total Premium.

Direct Online (apsaleroom.com): 18% Total Premium (Includes a 2% surcharge).

The-Saleroom.com: Approximately 20.95% Total Premium (Includes a 4.95% + VAT surcharge from the platform).
What are the bidding increments?

Are you able to deliver my purchased Lot(s) to me?
Yes. We partner with Sackville West to provide professional packing and global transit.

Specialist Handling: They utilize collector-grade techniques, including bespoke timber crating for fragile items like glass globes and neon signage.

Shipping Quotes: We recommend contacting Sackville West for a quote prior to the auction at info@sackvillewest.co.uk or 02080 909 988.

Fragile Items: Delicate items like Petrol Pump Globes must be collected or delivered by AP Saleroom, our approved partners, or personally by the Buyer.
Can I collect my items personally?
Yes. Collections can be made from the Sackville West facility. To ensure your items are ready and staff are available to assist, all collections must be scheduled in advance via our booking system.
