Oval form petrol pump globe with a white body. Both main faces are decorated with the VIP logo in blue with red chevron accents, above the word PREMIUM in red italicised sans-serif lettering. The globe features a central vertical red band running around the sides and is mounted on a ground-glass circular neck. The lower body is printed HAILWARE BRITISH MADE, identifying the manufacturer as Hailwood & Ackroyd Ltd of Morley, Leeds. The base rim bears a hand-written mark in red ink reading 7.12.64. An orange card Sotheby’s lot tag is attached to the body, dated 6 Dec 1993 for lot 348.
